Based on the classic J-200, and built under the supervision of Ren Ferguson, the J-100 is a somewhat stripped-down version with less of the decoration but all of the quality. The top is unencumbered by the traditional large and thick pickguard, and so is a little livelier and more resonant. Lots of bass, and overall a very nice guitar.
MORE →The Gretsch 6125 Anniversary model is structurally very similar to the 6120. This particular example has a few oddities: the body has trestle bracing, and the label clearly states that it’s a 6121 – but the 6121 is a quite different guitar! While not fully original, this is a very functional piece that’s ready to gig or record.
