Yes this guitar just might be the next best thing to being on vacation in Hawaii!! When it came time to place another order for one of my all time favourite Bourgeois guitars I decided to try another exotic wood pairing. Seeking advise from the master I called up Bourgeois and asked what fantastic wood set they might have stashed away. The enthusiastic answer came in the form of a highly flamed Hawaiian Koa. I contemplated using a Sitka spruce top but Dana suggested that the usual Redwood top would sound great with the Koa and wow he sure was right!

MORE →There are many guitars that employ a smaller curvy body size, like a Jumbo that was put in the drier for too long. The idea is to get a more comfortable and manageable body size but still retain a lot of the power and tonal depth that you get from a larger instrument. However, few guitar actually achieve this feat. The Bourgeois Small Jumbo takes this idea and hits one right out of the park!

Norman’s son Claude continued to build and research guitars after Norman Guitars Inc. closed its doors and sold its trade mark in 1988. Today Norman’s nephew Robin and cousin Claude run Boucher Guitar Products Inc. building high quality acoustic guitars and sharing their passion with Claude’s son Nicholas.
