Here is a beautifully engraved nickle plated brass body tricone Style 3 from National. It features a Honduras mahogany neck and ebony fretboard, factory installed Highlander pickup, custom factory compensated saddle and 12th fret inlay. The engraving was done by Dave Giulietti who is considered the best engraver for National. This example is in mint condition and comes with a black arched top hardshell case.

MORE →The Gold Tone Resophonic 5-String Dojo pictured above is one of the only Reso-phonic 5-string banjos I have ever had the opportunity to play. As you would expect, the craftsmanship is tidy and the design is intelligent and attractive. What is surprising to me about this instrument is the tone. I would have expected a resonator style banjo to be quite harsh and shrill sounding but this ‘Dojo’ is quite subtle and ‘chimey’ sounding!
MORE →The National Tricone is patterned after the original instrument made in 1927 with its functional Art Deco industrial design. It is made of brass, highly polished and plated with either bright nickel plating or a custom Antique Brass treatment! The round, mahogany neck has an ivoroid bound ebony fingerboard. The headstock has the National logo inlayed in mother-of-pearl and vintage-style tuners!
