Here is a very clean Martin 00-18G, built in 1958.
In the late 1950’s folk music revivals started in many countries. In response to this, instrument companies started making more nylon string instruments, which differ from what we now call ‘classical’ instruments in many ways. They are based on steel-string instruments, are intended to be strummed or plucked, and the neck is narrow enough that you can use your thumb for fretting!

An extremely rare classical guitar, handmade by G.W.Barry in 1996.
Gordon Barry routinely built classical guitars when he worked with Larrivee guitars in the late 70s and early 80s. Since then he has built hundreds of steel string guitars but this privately commissioned classical guitar is a truly special instrument!

This is a lovely guitar by Linda Manzer, built in 1980 in Toronto. It’s been played – as it should be! – and is in good shape. It speaks very well with clear, articulated trebles and a full yet not overwhelming bass. The inlay is very well executed, and all around this is a wonderful instrument.
