This Martin Custom Shop D-18 Sunburst is an outstanding instrument. Without being played in at all, it’s bright, full, crisp and clear with brilliant ringing trebles and rich bass and midrange. What a sound – and it’s just going to get better.

This 1966 Martin D-21 was built just before Martin stopped using Brazilian rosewood in response to Brazil’s restrictions on the export of Brazilian Rosewood in lumber form. This, then, is one of the last Brazilian D-21s.
This example of the D-21 line is in good physical shape and good playing condition, and sonds quite good.

Martin built a total of 75 of these instruments, and based them on a 1929 Ditson model 111 that resides in the Martin Museum.
