Here’s a near-perfect 2011 Martin 00-15M steel string acoustic guitar. The 00 body style is one of the earliest Martin designs,

MORE →Here is a very clean 2011 Martin 000-18. The 000-18 is a fairly plain, straightforward, extremely competent guitar and has been produced by Martin since 1921 (except for 1932 and 1933).
A little brighter than rosewood models, the smaller body size adds to comfort and a more balanced tone, without the potential for ‘boominess’ often found with dreadnought guitars.

Tenor guitars became very popular in the 1920’s, going with the rise of the tenor banjo as a rhythm instrument for jazz type music. Possibly first built in the dawn of the 20th century by Lyon and Healy – many of their guitars carried the brand name ‘Washburn’ – by 1920 most manufacturers built them.
