Here is an all original mid 60’s J-45 in great shape other than some cosmetic wear and tear and a some fret wear. Typical of this era with the large pick guard the neck is very slim.

Here is an F-5 that has all of the features to suggest a 1949 model and only the label indicates 1951. Regardless if it is 49 or a 51 this sure is one special mandolin.
