Here’s a 1966 Gibson RB100 banjo. Shaded finish was “blown in” around the heel, and clearly this is to hide a repaired heel crack. The finish work appears to be at least 30 years old so clearly the repair, what ever was done, was sound and well done.

A near-mint 1959 Gibson Les Paul TV Model; the guitar has been played but has also been taken care of.The TV model was produced to address the needs of television production – this colour, it turned out, was most visible on black-and-white television sets. The TV model is basically a Les Paul Junior with the TV finish, and a decal identifying it as a ‘TV MODEL’ rather than ‘JUNIOR’.

MORE →This is a very good condition example of the Les Paul Faded line. This particular piece is based on a tobacco sunburst that’s faded to a golden yellow. It’s a very resonant instrument, and at around 9 pounds, quite comfortable to hold and play.
