MORE →Here is a wonderful flat-top steel string guitar from Ryo Ryosuke Kobayashi, built during 2012. Ryo Ryosuke Kobayashi apprenticed to Sergei de Jonge at his shop in Chelsea, Quebec.
This impressive instrument features a somewhat oversize classical shaped body and an elegant contoured cutaway. The top is bound and the purfling follows the line of the cutaway very nicely.

MORE →Here is a jaw dropping new piece from the workshop of luthier Sergei de Jonge. Upon opening the case for this guitar the first thing that hits you is the visual impact of the faded tobacco burst over a wonderful book-matched Bearclaw Sitka spruce top. Then your eyes are drawn to the Snakewood bridge and fingerboard which really pop but don’t overpower the visual impact of the top itself. I thought it couldn’t get much better until I flipped the guitar over and was hit over the head with an absolutely stunning set of Ziricote. The dark grain lines and sapwood practically jump to life under the high gloss nitrocellulose finish! As usual the detail oriented craftsmanship we have come to expect from Sergei is on display including flawless joinery and beautiful finish work.
