This 1966 Martin D-21 was built just before Martin stopped using Brazilian rosewood in response to Brazil’s restrictions on the export of Brazilian Rosewood in lumber form. This, then, is one of the last Brazilian D-21s.

This example of the D-21 line is in good physical shape and good playing condition, and sonds quite good.

Please Note! This guitar has been discontinued by Martin. The Martin D-21 Special uses the classic D body shape with the rosewood back and sides of the D-28, but with less decoration and ‘vintage’ style features like scalloped bracing and a pyramid bridge.
