Beginning as a 35th Anniversary model and then put into regular production the Taylor 12 Fret model has become a players favourite and a wonderful addition to this guitar line. This Build to Order 12 Fret model features a Redwood top, Indian Rosewood sides and back, a 12 fret neck to body design with a slotted head stock, venetian cutaway and Taylor ES pickup system.
The reorientation of the neck, body and bridge makes for a dramatically different sounding Grand Concert. The bridge being shifted farther back on the lower bout provides a blend between modern and vintage tonal flavors. The midrange on this guitar is rich and warm and the bass and sustain are much larger then the size of the body would lend you to believe. The Redwood top a clear tone with a solid note fundamental and a round smooth edge to the treble frequencies while maintaining a distinctive snap and brilliance.
The shorter scale and venetian cutaway and small body on this guitar make it a wonderfully comfortable guitar to play. This lovely piece really seems to shine for fingerstyle playing and light strumming and really comes alive when using open tunings.
