Comments | Here we have a Kenny Hill Hauser ’37 Classical, 2009 model. This instrument has been well played and has a few marks, as French Polish finishes are prone to, but is in excellent structural condition.
Here’s what Kenny Hill has to say about this model: |
Serial Number | 2880, built during 2009 at Kenny Hill’s shop in Ben Lomond, California, USA. |
Pricing | $3,599.00 CAD with hardshell case. |
Neck | Mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard. 650mm scale length with 51mm nut width. |

Body | Hauser ’37 style design and construction with European spruce top, Indian Rosewood back, sides, bridge and headplate. |
Finish | Light lacquer French Polish finish with some wear – some scratches and dings on the top and dings on the sides. French Polish provides a very light, unrestrictive protective surface that lets the instrument resonate. It is a glossy finish but does not provide the ‘poured glass’ effect of modern heavy gloss finishes. You will see surface characteristics through the gloss – sinkage in pores and along grain lines. It’s also delicate compared to modern finishes, so it’s a bit easier to mark, but it’s also much more repairable should that be desired. |
Hardware/electronics | Gold Rubner tuners with pearlescent buttons, bone nut and saddle. Strung with Hannabach 815 Hard strings. Strap pins have been professionally installed. |
Playability/Action | Plays well and speaks clearly. |
Case | Black Hardshell ‘Guardian’ case included. |
