Comments | Here is a beautiful double-topped, 2006 model classical guitar from Kenneth Hill. The double top concept uses an ultar-light layer of Nomex between very thin cedar and spruce layers. This allows a very strong, resonant top with the warm, round characteristics of cedar flavoured with the sharpness and clarity of spruce. The Hill signature series guitars also feature an elevated fretboard based a concept developed by the late Thomas Humphrey, easing access to upper registers while altering the string angle relative to the bridge – perhaps stirring the top rather than twisting it – giving a firm, more postitive response to picking attack. |
