Neck	Maple neck with unbound ebony fingerboard, heel cap and headplate. Fingerboard is scooped at 17th fret. Mother of pearl dots and engraved star inlay at the 5th fret, with mother of pearl crescent moon and starts on the headplate. Capo tack installed at 7th fret.
Frets	Standard fretwire with 22 frets. Upper frets are shortened for the frailing scoop.
Body	Maple rim with dowel stick construction.
Finish	French polish type satin finish on stained maple.
Hardware/electronics	Five-Start Planet Nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons, Dobson style tone ring, No-Knot© tailpiece and hardware by Rickard.
Playability/Action	Plays well, and will be set up to the player’s requirements.

Comments	Anne Hartman builds banjos and guitars in the Toronto area and is quickly establishing herself as a respected luthier. This is a wonderful example of her work, and is built around a rare, vintage-style component – a nickel-plated brass Dobson-style tone ring (made by Rickard). This design was patented by Henry Dobson in 1881 and provides more midrange while reducing sustain in the bass.
