Comments | The J-45 model was introduced in 1942, and was an immediate hit. The Gibson Brad Paisley Model J-45 is based on the original run of J-45s, and includes styling cues for its namesake Brad Paisley. It features the same construction and materials, with Adirondack Red Spruce top and scalloped bracing, mahogany back, sides and neck, and hide glue on the joints.
The Gibson Brad Paisley Model J-45 was built in a run of 300, with the label carrying Brad Paisley’s name and signature and identifying it as the Brad Paisley Model. Body | Taking design specs from the 1942 Legend J-45 model, the Brad Paisely Model features the classic slope-shoulder dreadnought shape. An Adirondack Red Spruce top with scalloped bracing sits on mahogany sides and back. The rosewood bridge is the ‘belly up’ style. Multi-ply top binding, single ply back binding, double ring rosette. Large faux tortoise pickguard with hand-engraved and painted paisley motif. Hide glue was used throughout. |
