Comments | Here’s a very clean 2011 Huber TrueTone VRB-4 Banjo. The VRB-4 is a replica of pre-war (WWII) style banjos, and features walnut construction, HR-30 tone ring and engineered rim.Huber banjos are really built around Steve Huber’s concept of what made pre-war banjos distinctively warm and responsive – the tone ring. Over several years of hard hand work and experimentation, Steve Huber managed to reliably reproduce the design, specifications and alloys used in those rings. From there, he researched the subtler differences in the construction and materials in these older instruments. The results are audibly stunning with full, rich, brilliant tone. This example of the Huber TrueTone VRB-4 is in great shape, with no appreciable wear on the instrument or the case. The burl walnut used o the resonator is really striking. |
