Tom Anderson’s shop builds a small number of instruments, focusing on quality rather than quantity. Many of the components are built to Anderson specifications or modified in the Anderson shop.
This 2006 Tom Anderson Classic Sunburst is based on the venerable Strat design, and is in near-perfect condition. The alder body has a beautifully done tobacco sunburst finish, and is topped off with a ‘mint green’ pickguard. ‘Mint Green’ replicates the shade that early 1960’s Fender pickguards developed as they aged. The maple neck is capped with a rosewood fingerboard and the trussrod is adjusted from the head end. Stainless steel frets are standard on these guitars, and there is very little fretwear.
This particular instrument is also equipped with the patented Buzz Feiten system. The nut and saddle placements are carefully set and slight offsets in tuning will produce a result with most notes very close to being in tune, more than with standard tuning systems. Many electronic tuners offer Feiten profiles to make the subtle offsets easy to achieve.
This guitar plays extremely well and sounds great.
