| Comments | The 700 series is Taylor’s take on the classic square-shoulder dreadnought guitar. The dreadnought is noted for its volume and fullness, but the reality is that a lot of what makes the sound ‘full’ is extra bass response. The trick in building these instruments is to match that full bass with rich midrange and sparkling high end.
This is a 2004 Taylor 710 Short Scale CE-L9 Dreadnought. It’s in extremely good condition, and has been carefully played so it has opened up some, and sounds great. The term ‘Short Scale’ in this case means that the scale length, the theoretical distance from the nut to the saddle, is 24 7/8 inches.
