Lawrence Nyberg first studied instrument making under Michael Dunn in New Westminster, BC, and from there spent two years working for Jean Larrivee. Since then, he has worked independently building a variety of stringed instruments. His shop is now on Hornby Island, BC.
From 2003, this Lawrence Nyberg Bouzouki features a carved Engelmann spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides. The 24 inch scale length is mahogany with an rosewood-bound ebony fingerboardl the nut width is 36mm. The headplate is ebony with a mother-of-pearl inlay depicting an owl. An ebony bridge supports a bone saddle, and a custom bronze tailpiece holds the strings. For electronics, Lawrence Nyberg installed a B-Band unit with an endpin jack.
The body finish is gloss lacquer, and the neck has an oil finish. The top has a protective, transparent tap plate.
This is a used instrument, but it has been well kept. There is very minor scuffing and wear, very little fret wear, and the finish is in good condition.
