2000 Michael F Lazar Classical Guitar SOLD

Comments Here is a fine 2000 Michael F Lazar classical guitar.

Michael Lazar is a builder — and ex-banker — living and working in St. Albert, Alberta. He discovered a passion for classical guitars and began building classical guitars around 1980. Since retiring from banking in 2000, has focused on guitar construction.

Lazar has a set of well-defined objectives when building instruments – including tone, balanced voicing, playability, volume, and duriability – and also focuses on intonation. Consequently, his instruments feature compensated nuts and saddles in an effort to bring as many notes into tune as possible.

This example is signed and dated to 12/2000 and is in good condition. The french polish finish is very light, which minimizes damping effects on the instruments’ vibration. The back is a very attractive piece of Cocobolo, a Central American hardwood frequently used in place of Brazilian rosewood.
