Comments | This is fun – a 1996 Charvel Surfcaster 12! First introduced in 1991, this take on the electric 12 string guitar uses a chambered mahogany body with a maple cap, and a bolted-on maple neck.
The Surfcaster shows influences from a variety of American manufactures. The stacked tuner arrangement, chambered body and slash soundhole say “Rickenbacker”, the offset body and bolt-on construction are Fender-esque, and the lipstick-tube pickups suggest Danelectro. They all blend together to make a unique and quite playable instrument. |
