Comments | George Lowden has been building guitars since the early 1970’s in Northern Ireland. He’s known for producing quality instruments with innovative body and bracing designs. Over the years, Lowden has been associated with efforts to produce instruments on a larger scale but has retained the ability to build top quality instruments under his own name (something that others, notably Leo Fender, lost).
This 1995 Lowden O10 Custom – the O stands for Original – is a full-size jumbo guitar, yet tonally is quite well balanced. This instrument has been played thoroughly, and sounds like it. Fully open, it’s got warm sparkling highs yet isn’t boomy – very well suited to fingerstyle playing. |
