Comments | Here is a 1994 Deering Calico banjo in excellent condition.
The Deering Calico is a thoroughbred professional player’s banjo through and through. Designed for full bass projection and rich balanced trebles this top “production model” runs $3200 new. Features include AAA flame maple neck and resonator, elaborate inlay on a bound ebony fretboard and ultra accurate fit & finish throughout. This 1994 Calico appears as-new and almost unplayed. A previous owner invested in a Tony Pass Lost Timbre block rim as found on new Stelling banjos. The mass of the Tony Pass block rim will add to sustain and clarity on any banjo. The handsome clear head is an unusual touch but really enhances the appearance. That said, if the buyer prefers a stock Deering head, I will install and setup with the new head for $80 parts and labour. All hardware is original except for a added Shubb 5th string sliding pro-capo. Also included is a sparkling new 2012 Deering hardshell case. |
