| Comments | The Harmony company made a huge number of instruments between 1945 and 1978, under their own name and under contract to other distributors and retailers. At one time, if you went anywhere in North America, somebody had a Harmony-produced instrument. However, Harmony instruments moved well offshore – there are a number of photos from 1963 of Keith Richards playing a Harmony Meteor.
This 1969 Harmony H54-1 Rocket is characteristic of Harmony’s line. The Rocket was introduced in 1958 as a single-cutaway archtop electric, and at the end of 1967 it gained a second cutaway. It’s fully hollow, with a sound post and laminate top, back and sides. |
