Comments | Here’s a very cool 1964 Gibson Trini Lopez Custom. Gibson initially released the Trini Lopez as a signature model during 1964 and produced it until 1971. There were two very distinctly different versions, the Custom or Deluxe – pictured here – based on the full size hollow Barney Kessel model, and the Standard, based on the ES-335 platform. The label only identifies this instrument as a ‘Trini Lopez’, but the construction differences between the two versions are significant.
Trini Lopez still tours and records, and you can visit his website here |
