Comments The iconic Gibson J200 isn’t just an impressive looking guitar. It can be an incredibly good sounding instrument.
This example of 1958 Gibson J200 Sunburst production is in quite good condition and has a full, rich sound. The tuners were changed at some point to period Epiphone gears. There is a small chip in the edge of the headstock near the D tuner, ther eare some dings and scratches around the guitar, but overall it’s in good shape.
Serial Number A 27746, built during 1958 at Gibson’s Kalamazoo, Michigan plant.

Neck 2-piece maple neck with bound rosewood fingerboard and mother of pearl ‘Crown’ position markers, bound headstock with mother of pearl Gibson logo and Crown inlay. 2-layer truss rod cover with larger white edge.
Frets Some wear, particularly in the lower frets. It may have been partially refretted at some time.
Body The classic Super Jumbo body, with spruce top and maple back and sides. Hand-painted faux tortoise pickuard in good shape, rosewood ‘Moustache’ bridge with mother of pearl block decorations.
Finish Original gloss sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish in good condition.
Hardware/electronics Mostly original with period Epiphone tuners installed.
Playability/Action Plays quite well. And the sound!
