The Gibson True Historic Les Paul models feature a wet-sanded nitrocellulose lacquer finish, double-carved and hand-sanded top and neck, rolled binding and more. The finish is aged, using a process pioneered by Tom Murphy, and this guitar looks like it has actually been used, rather than processed. It has a nice weight at 8.7 pounds (3.9 kg) and very little actual play wear. All the original case candy, certificate of authenticity and hang tags, including the tag for the BumbleBee capacitors used in the tone control circuit, are included.
An interesting touch is that the strings run backwards through the stop tailpiece, then over the bar. This lets you lock the tailpiece down for maximum sustain, but the string angle to the saddle is fairly shallow reducing the apparent string tension during bends. This is the way Duane Allman set up his Les Paul.
The original brown Gibson hardshell case is included.
