Lounsbury guitars are very well made and sound quite good. This is a Lounsbury Concert model built with a Sitka spruce top, Ziricote back, sides and headplate. The neck is mahogany with an ebony fingerboard, binding and rosette. There is also a sound port on the upper bass bout, which gives the player a very real sense of what the audience hears.
This Concert model has a 25.4 inch scale length and 1.75 inch nut width. The tuners are Gotoh 510 with burnished gold finish and ebony buttons. The headstock features a Great Lakes inlay in shell.
As is the case with guitars from many current builders, this guitar has a hand-applied French Polish finish. This finish technique protects the wood, though not to the degree that modern plastic finishes do, yet allow the wood to vibrate freely - as many modern plastic finishes do not.
This is a very nice guitar to play. It's well made and comfortable, and the side port really enhances the player's experience.
A TKL hardshell case is included.
