S/N: CLF53753, built around 2014 at the G&L plant in Fullerton, California.
Built from 1997, the G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow references one of Leo Fender's interesting 1960s models with input from Roger Rossmeisl.
The G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow uses a classic single-cutaway body shape and incorporating the chambered F-hole design introduced by Roger Rossmeisl for several Rickenbacker models and the Fender Telecaster Thinline, and a bolt on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. The body is Swamp Ash, giving a warm tone at a very reasonable weight.
As the Bluesboy variant of the ASAT Classic has a Seth Lover humbucker in the neck position, an option only available on the Bluesboy series. This instrument is in excellent original condition with very little wear. The original hardshell case is included, and it contains the G&L Certificate of Authenticity, listing the serial number but not the build date.
A note about dating G&L guitars: Dating these instruments can be difficult, because the serial numbers are not necessarily sequential. Clues or explicit dates can sometimes be found written in the neck pocket or on the neck heel, but as seen here, this isn't always clear. In this case, the guitar is in excellent condition and is fairly recent, and there's a 'N 14' partial stamp in the neck pocket, so we're dating it to 2014.
