The Gibson SG Standard Bass is a re-creation of the Gibson basses that appeared on many major recordings and performances in the 1950s into the late 1960s. Based mostly on the popular Gibson EB-3 introduced in 1961, the Gibson SG Standard bass features solid mahogany construction, T-Bird and T-Bird mini pickups, Grover tuning gears, and a simplified wiring layout.
This 2014 Gibson SG Standard bass was built in Nashville, Tennessee and is in good condition with just a little buckle rash on the back. It plays well, and its light weight, the shorter 30.5 inch scale length and 1.695 inch nut width make it very comfortable to play. The original 3-point bridge is in the case, but it's been replaced with a black Babicz FCH 3-Point, Four String Bass Bridge, which adds clarity, note separation, and sustain.
