SOLD!!! 2014 Collings D1 Dreadnought Steel String Guitar

The Collings D1 is a top-shelf expression of the world's most successful and popular steel string guitar design - the square shoulder 14-fret dreadnought. This design combines lots of controllable power and volume with a full bottom end, mids and highs.

This Collings D1 example was built during 2014 at the Collings shop in Austin, Texas and has been played, but also well taken care of. It has opened up nicely, and has a full, rich and crisp tone with the immediate attack characteristic of mahogany and spruce dreadnoughts. There is light to moderate fret wear up to around the 7th position, and the finish is very clean with no significant marking. Naturally there's a bit of wear on the pickguard from fingers resting on it, but that's what it's there for! A K&K pickup has been installed, and output is via an endpin jack. The original hardshell case is included.
