It's not much of a stretch to say that the Fender Bass changed the way music was presented and how it sounded. For the first time, bass instruments could be just as loud and present as any other instrument - and be portable.
Over the years, the Jazz Bass has had a number of changes. With the American Standard models, the strings can pass through the body and rest on a more massive bridge or load through the back of the bridge; originally the Precision and Jazz basses used the same steel bridge with the strings going through the rear edge of the bridge and not through the body. The tuners are upgraded with the worm gear fully enclosed. The body is Alder, the neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard, and the finish is a gloss urethane.
This 2012 Fender American St andard Jazz Bass is in excellent condition and comes with the original Fender rectangular creme tolex case. It has just a couple of very small pressure marks around the edges. There are no significant dents or scratches and almost no fret wear.
