S/N: HHH034E, built at the Yamaha plant in Japan during January, 2011.
It can be difficult to create a new, successful guitar design, but Yamaha did it with its SG series. The Yamaha SG1820 became the 'standard' model. In this form, the SG series guitars first appeared in 1976 and was endorsed by Carlos Santana.
The Yamaha SG1820 uses a traditional build structure - a carved maple cap on a mahogany body and a set- in mahogany neck. On the SG1820, the fingerboard is rosewood. Hardware is chrome, with Grover Roto-Matic tuners, TonePros locking bridge and tailpiece and Seymour Duncan '59 pickups. The wiring is familiar, with a pickup selector and individual volume and tone controls.
This example dates to January 2011 and was built at the Yamaha factory in Hamamatsu, Japan. It is in excellent condition with very little wear, and the original brown hardshell case is included.
