The Fender Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960 as an 'upgrade' to the immensely influential Fender Precision bass. The name pointed the bass directly to jazz players, who Leo Fender felt would be attracted to the slimmer neck.

This is a re-issue of the 1974 version of the Fender Jazz Bass with an ash body and bound maple neck with block position markers. The key 1974 features are here - the bullet truss rod and 3-bolt micro-tilt neck joint. Unusually, the pickup covers are still in place though the mutes are not.

This bass is all original except for the installation of strap-lock strap pins. There is minor buckle rash on the back, but otherwise the condition is very good. The current selling price of this bass, new, is around $2,500 Canadian. A black molded case is included.
