Here we have a 2008 Breedlove Quartz FF mandolin - this is an older model, and Breedlove has discontinued the Quartz name. The current equivalent F-style model, the Legacy FF, lists for $2,665.00 US.
Built using all solid woods, with a spruce top, flame maple for the back, side and neck, and ebony for the fingerboard and bridge, the Quartz FF is a great sounding and playing instrument. The nut width is 1 3/16 inch.
This example is in good overall condition. It's definitely been played, but not abused - there is some fretwear in the low positions and in some areas, the satin finish has worn to gloss! This playing has had its effect - the tone has opened up and the instrument is rich, brilliant and resonant.
