Linda Manzer guitars are highly regarded and are played by many prominent musicians, most notably Pat Metheny and Bruce Cockburn. All her guitars are exceedingly well built. This example, built in 1980, features a spruce top, Indian Rosewood back, sides, and headplate, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. As handbuilt guitars go, it's relatively unornamented; there is a small floral inlay at the 7th fret. There is natural lacquer shrinkage but no checking or significant finish damage.
This guitar has been used as intended, and there is light to moderate fretwear in the lower positions. There are a few minor scuffs and small dents, and one larger dent near the tailblock, just at the bottom of the binding. There is no structural damage.
The neck angle is near perfect so the action is very good with lots of room for adjustment, and having been played for years it has opened up and sounds great, with a full, rich even tone and shimmering highs.
The original hardshell case is included.
