S/N: 7058941, dates to February 27 1979 at the Gibson Kalamazoo plant.
From 1979, here's a Gibson ES-335 TD refinished natural and with a Bigsby B5 installed using the excellent Vibramate adapter plate and with a Schaller roller tune-o-matic style bridge. This guitar was built at Gibson's Kalamazoo Plant on February 27th, 1979 and was production number 41.
This guitar was refretted at some point and plays well and cleanly. For my hands, these late 1970's necks are very comfortable - a bit wider than 60's fingerboards, but not chunky.
Originally, this guitar had a standard stop tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge. The owner wanted a Bigsby, and used the Vibramate V5 kit to mount a Bigsby B5 (dual roller, short body) trem unit onto the stop tailpiece stud anchors. This modification is completely reversible - just remove the parts and reinstall the tailpiece - and doesn't require any permanent alterations to the guitar.
