S/N: N/A, built during 1979 at David Wren's shop in Toronto, Ontario.
David Wren has been building guitars like this Wren Concert in the Toronto area for decades, after working with Jean Larrivee for several years. Well known for meticulous attention to detail and impeccable build quality, Wren guitars are sought after.
This Wren Concert Cutaway was built during 1979 at David's Toronto shop. It has a full size Concert body with a florentine (pointed) cutaway, Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard and bridge, and a rosewood headplate with a custom inlay of a woman with three small wrens in the background. A K&K pickup is installed.
This guitar has been played over the years, and its tone has opened up; it has also had the service expected of a guitar of this age. The neck has been reset and a new bridge installed. The top had cracked, but this has been repaired; a fret dress was done and a new bone saddle was installed in our shop. The original hard-shell case is included.
