S/N: B-469-8,m built around 1978,
For decades, the Dobro name defined the genre, though it grew out of the National company. The Dobro Model 33H was built from 1973 to 1977 with a plated brass body.
Founded by the Dopyera Brothers after they split off from National around 1928, Dobro made resophonic guitars under a variety of names, including Regal, Orpheum, Alhambra, Angelus, and Montgomery-Ward. Over the years, the Dobro company has had many owners and is now a division of Gibson.
Here we have a 1978 Dobro Model 33H, a single-cone, biscuit bridge in a chrome-plated brass body. The original cone and biscuit had collapsed, so they were replaced in our repair shop with modern National parts. The result is a perfectly serviceable guitar!
A black hardshell case is included.
