The Fender Stratocaster, introduced in 1954, was an immediate success, appearing in almost musical contexts where electric guitars are accepted. While most people think of the Fender Stratocaster having a trem bridge, until 2006 it was always available in a hardtail version.

This 1977 Fender Stratocaster hardtail features a three-tone sunburst and three-bolt neck, and the significant advance of the 'Bullet' truss rod adjuster.

The 'Bullet' truss rod moved the adjustment point to the head from the body end; previously, it was necessary to remove the neck to adjust the truss rod without damaging parts of the guitar. You'll see many of the earlier models with gouged pickguards for this reason. Now, most Fender guitars still have the head-end adjustment, but it's inset under the nut.

This guitar is in good all round condition with expected finish wear and checking There's minor fret wear much of the finish on the back of the neck has been removed. The original hardshell case is included, but it has one broken latch.
