The Martin D-76 Bicentennial Commemmorative Limited Edition model features a spruce top, 3-piece Indian Rosewood back and sides with Herrinbone purfling between the panels, a mahogany neck with an unbound ebony fingerboard sporting 5-pointed star position markers, and an engraved pearl inlay of a bald eagle on the headstock, below the traditional Martin decal. Like a D-35 or D-28, the bridge is also ebony.
One of the distinguishing marks on this model is an engraved metal plate on the neck block listing the guitar name, its rank in the production run, and the serial number.
This guitar, number 854 of the 1,976 built during 1976, is in excellent playing condition andd has been serviced - it's had the neck reset and a refret, and the pickguard has been removed and replaced to repair a crack underneath - the repair is very well done.
The original blue molded case is included.
