The Gibson ES-335 appeared as a radical new design in 1958, and was an immediate hit with serious guitarists of all genres. Combining the responsive, warm roundness of an archtop with the feedback resistance of a solidbody, the ES-335, ES-345 and ES-355 have been standard models since their launch.
This 1967 Gibson ES-335 featrures a cherry finish and block position markers. Orignally fitted with a trapeze tailpiece, this example was retrofitted long ago with a stop tailpiece. The knobs, bridge are newere and the tuners have also been changed, to Schaller models. There is some touchup and overspray on the neck, but no evidence of damage. A brown Guild case is included.
