The Gibson ES-125C is based completely on the full-body, non cutaway ES-125 but is also essentially the same as a 1949 ES-175. It uses the standard Gibson archtop electic construction - press-formed, laminated maple is used on the body because of its feedback rejection, ad the neck is mahogany with rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge. There is one P-90 pickup in the neck position, with volume and tone controls.
This very nice example of a classic Gibson jazz guitar dates to 1967. Gibson re-used some serial numbers and this guitar's serial, 329810, could be either 1965 or 1967, but the ES-125C was introduced in late 1966 - so the number has to be from 1967.
This instrument is in very clean and apparently original condition. It plays well and cleanly and because it's light and based on a proven design, it's very comfortable to play. It does have one alteration - there is an output jack plate on the treble side. The side-mount output jack is one of the vulnerable points on Gibson archtops (and Gretsch models, for that matter) , and many guitars show varying degrees of damage at that point. The jack plate is an effective way to reinforce the side.
A non-original hardshell case is included.
