The Gibson J-45 is one of the most iconic American guitars. A slope-shouldered dreadnought introduced in 1942, it's appeared on countless stages, recordings, radio broadcasts, television shows and movies.
This 1966 Gibson J-45 comes with an fairly unusual option - factory installed dual pickguards. The original adjustable bridge has been replaced with a rosewood fixed-saddle model. The Kluson strip tuners are original. The sunburst finish is in good original condition with the expected natural lacquer checking. The original case is included.
These guitars are fun to play. They have *that sound*, and like Gibson Hummingbird and Everly Brothers models, the extra pickguard mass adds an amount of 'natural compression' so it sounds like it's been very well recorded - and if it actually is being recorded, the recording will probably go pretty smoothly with minimal tweaking.
