Here's a blonde Fender Telecaster, with a neck date of AUG66B, and rosewood fingerboard. Long ago, a Gibson humbucking pickup was added to the neck position. This involves enlarging the route for the neck pickup and opening up the pickguard. The wiring layout often remains the same in this situation.
This guitar has been used as intended, and so it was refretted with wider, Gibson style fretwire. There is moderate wear on the refret, and plenty of playing time left. As well, new sealed tuners were installed. The tuners appear to be a good Schaller clone, with the backs marked 'K High Quality'.
The blonde finish is original, and has acquired a slight 'road-map' checking effect. There is a fair amount of wear through the colour coats on the edges of the guitar body. This kind of patina can really only be obtained through long use over time. Some try to reproduce it with various 'relic-ing' methods but it's never the same.
This guitar plays well, and definitely has that Tele twang!
A newer Fender tweed hardshell case is included.
