As with a suspicious number of other highly influential instruments, the Fender Jazzmaster made its first appearance at the 1958 Winter Namm show in Anaheim, California.

Intended to give jazz guitar players an alternative to hollowbody models, the Fender Jazzmaster introduced an offset body that is more comfortable and stable when playing seated. However, the Jazzmaster was more visibly popular with surf musicians, and was aslo present on many significant recordings - it's said that Hank Garland used a Fender Jazzmaster on the 1961 Elvis Presley hit Little Sister.

This 1966 Fender Jazzmaster is in its original Olympic White finish, with matching headstock colour. The finish is in good condition with just a few expected dings and scratches. The neck date is 3OCT66.

The bridge has been replaced with a Mastery model, which is a dramatic improvement over the orginal bridge (included in the original case, with the vibrato arm.
