S/N: 24061, built during 1963 at the Guild plant in Hoboken, New Jersey.
The Guild X-175 Manhattan, a full size, single cutaway electrified archtop, was built for 31 years - from 1954 to 1985. The X-175 featured laminated woods for feedback rejection - spruce top and maple back and sides and two pickups, in this case two Guild humbuckers. These guitars were very popular with working musicians, and the 'B' model was available with a Bigsby tailpiece.
This example dates to 1963 in the Guild shop in Hoboken, New Jersey. It is in overall good condition with lots of play wear; most of the finish has been worn off the mahogany neck and there is expected wear and tear on the body finish. The tuners have been replaced with Gotoh vintage style butterbean open-gear models (like Grover Sta-Tites). It plays well and is currently strung with flatwounds. The original Guild hardshell case is included.
