S/N: 133586, built during 1963 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Gibson J-45 appeared during 1942 with its fancier cousin, the SJ (Southern Jumbo) and immediately became a standard instrument for singers and songwriters.
This example was built during 1963 and has the characteristics of that era - for example the plastic bridge with adjustable ceramic saddle. The sunburst, originally red around the edges, has faded to a lovely 'iced tea' shade. It plays well, and has that great, unmistakably warm wrap-around J-45 tone.
The original fibre (cardboard) case is included, but should be replaced with a new hardshell.
