Epiphone Recording Banjos appeared around 1925 and were built until 1935. The Epiphone Recording B, or Bandmaster, was available as a tenor - as seen here - or as a Plectrum model with a longer neck and more frets.
The Epiphone Recording B, also known as the Bandmaster, is built with Brazilian Rosewood neck with a three-layer center strip, Gaboon ebony for the fingerboard and headplate, Indian Rosewood for the sides of the resonator, marquetry binding and decoration, and engraved Mother of Peal inlay on the headstock and fingerboard. The back of the resonator, and the back of the head, are covered with a Faux Tortoise layer. Gold plating was an option and original purchaser said yes!.
Built between 1929 and 1930, this Epiphone Recording B is in excellent playing condition and has less wear than you'd expect on a nearly 90 year old banjo. The original case is included.
