Gibson J-50 1950 (consignment) No Longer Available

Comments	The Gibson J-50 was introduced in 1945 as a variant of the successful J-45. The primary difference was the finish on the top! The J-50 has a natural finish and the J-45 is sunburst. This is a 1950 J-50 model in great playing condition. It’s had some repairs over its life, primarily to the back with crack repairs, rebracing and a high-quality refinishing. It’s got that wonderfully characteristic Gibson sound, warm and full with enough projection to make its voice heard. Overall, this is an attractive instrument that’s very nice to play.

Neck	Mahogany neck with unbound rosewood fingerboard, mother of pearl dot markers. The neck has a fuller ‘1950’s’ type profile.
Frets	This guitar has been refretted, and the frets and fingerboard are in excellent playing condition.
Body	Slope-shoulder dreadnought design, solid mahogany back and sides with spruce top. Purfled binding on top, single layer on back; rosewood ‘belly’ style bridge. Some crack repairs were done long ago, some braces were replaced, and the guitar is solid.
Finish	Nitrocellulose lacquer. The finish is in good shape. Some areas have been refinished as part of the repairs, with some new finish over the original. The back is completely refinished and the quality of that finish is very good.
Hardware/electronics	Original stip-style Kluson type gears with creme plastic buttons.
Playability/Action	Plays well with its current setup, and the fret maintenance means it will continue to do so for quite some time.
Case	Newer hardshell case included.
